Place and date of the Graduation Ceremony
Date: 12 July 2025, 10a.m.
Venue: Budapest Congress Center (Budapest Kongresszusi Központ), H-1123 Budapest, Jagelló út 1-3.
Parking: In front of Budapest Congress Center at own expense. Taking public transportation due to the limited number of parking slots is highly recommended.
Invitation cards: Students and their guests can participate at the Ceremony by presenting the invitation card issued by the Faculty. Graduates can receive their own ticket at the Foreign Students’ Secretariat between 26 May and 06 June (Monday: 9a.m.-4p.m., Tuesday, Thursday: 10a.m-1p.m., Wednesday: 1p.m.-4p.m.) following the successful final examinations. 4 guest tickets are available per student.
Bring the inviation cards with you to the Ceremony, without presenting it at the venue, you cannot participate in the event, you cannot receive your diploma! Presenting the invitation card is compulsory for your guests, too, without it they cannot enter the venue (Budapest Congress Center – Patria room).
Ceremony clothes (gown, hat): Students at the ceremony will be wearing gowns and hats provided by the Faculty. The deposit of the ceremony clothes is 20.000 HUF and students can collect them after paying the deposit. Procedure for collecting the gown and hat:
1. Pay the deposit of the clothes in the Foreign Students’ Secretariat between 26 May and 06 June (Monday: 9a.m.-4p.m., Tuesday, Thursday: 10a.m-1p.m., Wednesday: 1p.m.-4p.m.). You will get a receipt of the paid amount on the spot. Please keep the receipt because the deposit is given back only if you can present it.
2. The ceremony clothes can be collected by presenting the receipt of the paid deposit at the Cloak Room between 26 May and 06 June (Monday-Thursday: 9a.m.-4p.m., Friday: 9a.m.-1p.m.).
Students indicate their will to attend the event by collecting their ceremony clothes. The student who does not collect his/her ceremony clothes will not be in the seating order and his/her diploma will not be taken to the venue of the ceremony.
The diplomas will be given to the students on the stage so please pay attention to your clothes under the gown and avoid wearing jeans, sandals and flip-flops.
White gloves: You have to wear white gloves during the ceremony, which should be purchased individually. You can receive the handshake of the University’s highest level officials only if you are wearing gloves.
Seating order: Graduates will have a reserved seat at the Ceremony according to the seating order prepared by the Faculty. The seating order will be available after 30 June on this website. Bring the invitation card to the venue, otherwise you will not be let in the venue. Graduates should sit according to the Seating Order.
Oath: Students take an oath during the Graduation Ceremony. (At the beginning of the Oath, say your own name!)
Meeting: Please, arrive at the venue (Budapest Congress Center: H-1123 Budapest, Jagelló út 1-3.) on the day of the ceremony until 8am. Dressed in the graduation clothes, look for the lecturer responsible for your training program.
This is the time for taking the group photos. Considering the short time available, the groups have to organise themselves quickly for the photo – before the guests are let in the building. Please, respect your mates and do not be late. After taking the group photos, everybody should take his/her seat in accordance with the seating order.
If you arrive between 9a.m. and 9.30a.m., please check in at the information desk and sit in the last row of seats, you will receive your diploma at the end of the graduation. Those students who arrive later than 9.30a.m., cannot receive their diplomas at the Ceremony!
The Ceremony: Students are called to the stage for the graduation by their names, one-by-one according to specialisations. Late-comers (those who arrive between 9a.m. and 9.30a.m.) – regardless of their specialisation – will be called to the stage at the end. Students who arrive after 9.30a.m. can receive their diplomas between 14-18 July (Monday-Thursday: 9a.m.-4p.m., Friday: 9a.m.-1p.m.) at the Foreign Students’ Secretariat.
Please note that the ceremony will take around 1,5-2 hours.
Photos: Professional photographers will take photos during the ceremony and of the presentation of the diploma in case of each graduate student. In order to conduct a problem free and undisturbed ceremony, only the professional photographers are allowed to take photos – parents and guests are not allowed to leave their seats during the ceremony. You will be informed about the accessibility of the digital photos (free) later.
Returning the ceremony cloths: You will get your deposit back if you bring your clean and undamaged gown and hat together back to the Cloakroom (Vas street) between 14 – 18 July (Monday-Thursday: 9am – 4pm, Friday: 9am – 1pm). Please note that if you do not bring the gown or hat back, or return them in damaged/unclean state, you cannot get the deposit (20.000HUF) back.
