Nursing Summer practice – 1st or 2nd year
(4-week long summer practice)
The process
STEP 1 – Be informed
Please read the Dean’s resolution: Information on the completion of practice periods abroad (pdf).
Collect information about the attainable skills during the internship:

| Nursing | Week 1 - Observing and acquiring communication skills with patients |
| Nursing | Week 1 - Observing laboratory and other examination procedures, as well as preparation of patient for surgery/examination |
| Nursing | Week 1 - Learning the use of personal protective equipment, as well as hygienic and antiseptic hand washing |
| Nursing | Week 1 - Learning basic skills, protocol, and ward devices for resuscitation |
| Nursing | Week 2 - Independent nursing care patient admission, measurement of weight, height, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration, blood glucose, assessment of needs, documentation |
| Nursing | Week 2 - Development of patient’s environment |
| Nursing | Week 2 - Assistance with performance of ECG |
| Nursing | Week 2 - Observe administration of medication, blood collection, administration of injection, placement of venous cannula, infusion and transfusion therapy, assistance in preparation, recognition of minor local complications |

Options
Completing the practice at Semmelweis University:
STEP 2
Register for the course at the chosen department in Neptun.
STEP 3
Fill out the Student agreement for internships performed at Semmelweis University (pdf).
STEP 4
Please collect the certificate at the end of your summer practice and hand it in to your registrar. The deadline for handing in the certificates is the end of the registration week. Certification of completed famulus practice Nursing (pdf)
