Tempus Scholarships

General information

By default, Semmelweis University does not offer any scholarships directly but there are two state financed scholarships offered by Tempus Public Foundation:

MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION

If you are nominated for a scholarship, you will receive a detailed information notice from the Tempus Public Foundation.
You will only receive the final decision regarding your scholarship application at the end of June.

If you wish to apply for the self-financed training of the program of your choice as well, please apply through the SEMAPHOR system.
Please note that in this case, you will have to take a full entrance examination and pay the admission procedure fee.

For self-funding students

Simple Guide for Self-financed applicants

If you are a self-financed (fee-paying) student in Hungary and wish to apply for the Diaspora Scholarship at the same level of study, you are eligible to apply if:

  1. Your cumulative, corrected sum average is higher than the average of your study program.
  2. Your current Hungarian university recommends you (official letter).

Here is how to get a recommendation from Semmelweis University

Send these three documents:

  • A recommendation letter from a Semmelweis professor that is signed, stamped, and on letterhead.
  • Motivation letter.
  • Transcript of records (or a student status certificate if you are in your first year).

Important:

  • Upload all three documents to the scholarship application online system (DreamApply).
  • Email them to the following email address: admission@semmelweis.hu (for Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmaceutical Sciences).

What happens next?

  • The university will review your documents.
  • If accepted, you will receive the official recommendation letter signed by the authorized person.
  • Only this official university recommendation is valid. A letter from a professor alone is not enough.
