The meeting was held in the spirit of launching a joint collaboration. It included presentations of outpatient and inpatient care structures in both countries and institutions, as well as an overview of patient pathways. The management of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and severe asthma in the two countries was also discussed.
The introductory presentations were followed by an active and lively discussion, and the main shared objectives were also defined. The collaboration will include sharing COPD epidemiological data, joint implementation of Phase IV clinical studies in both countries, the launch of investigator‑initiated clinical trials, co-authored publications and joint grant applications, as well as the exchange of knowledge and experience regarding professional protocols, diagnostic standards, and financial protocols. In addition, plans were made for joint educational events and exchange programs for young pulmonologists.
