At the latest event in the “Meet the Alumni” series organized by the Directorate of International Relations and Alumni Affairs, the university welcomed Dr. Diana Reser, a former student of Semmelweis University, who is a senior consultant cardiac surgeon at the Heart Clinic Hirslanden in Zürich and the first female professor of cardiac surgery in Switzerland. During her lecture, she provided valuable insights into career opportunities in international medicine, professional advancement, and the experience of working in Switzerland’s healthcare sector.
During the discussion following her talk, students and early-career doctors participating in the international training programs had the opportunity to ask questions about professional advancement, building an international medical career, and international opportunities. In her lecture, Professor Diana Reser presented her professional journey from medical studies to an international career in cardiac surgery and academic leadership.
