A handbook was made by Semmelweis University in Hungarian, English and German to assist educators in teaching COVID-19 coronavirus. In addition to the teaching aid, documents on the basics of infectology, cough etiquette and a list of relevant publications were published on the university’s new website on the novel coronavirus. Students need to fill in a statement form before starting a lecture/seminar.

The education material is made up of 22 slides and is available in Hungarian, in English and in German on the university’s platform providing information on the novel coronavirus. Apart from giving a general outlook on the virus, it describes its clinical characteristics, the steps of diagnostics, the importance of the quarantine, prevention and the actions that have to be taken.

In addition, there is a document on general infectology and procedures in English and in German based on an American guideline, an information leaflet on the etiquette of coughing and a list of the relevant publications related to COVID-19.

According to the instructions of the Rector, students can only attend classes if they have filled in a form declaring that they have not been in an affected area or have not been in close contact with anyone who is suspected or proven to be infected in the past 14 days, and do not have symptoms of infectious respiratory diseases. The form to be filled out by the students and to be handed in to lecturers can be found on the page containing all the necessary information on the coronavirus.
