On the occasion of the graduating ceremony of the Faculty of Health Sciences this academic year 466 graduating students received their degrees as nurses, physiotherapists, dietitians, paramedics, midwives, public health inspectors, health visitors, nutrition scientists, addictology consultants, picture imaging diagnostic analysts and optometrists. Dr. Zoltán Zsolt Nagy, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences asked the graduating students in his speech to help each other in the future as well, to be loyal to their profession and to remain the ‘ambassadors’ of Semmelweis University both within Hungary and abroad.
Dean Nagy recalled the most important events of the Faculty of Health Sciences that took place during this academic year, and he also named all those graduating students who had received a certificate of appreciation earlier for their successful student scientific research work.
“Please remain intellectually open to the world, keep your curiosity and your thirst for knowledge, use the driving force and diligence in your heart. A graduating ceremony is an occasion where both reminiscence and farewell are present. Until you manage to find a job where you feel yourself great, you will probably face many challenges. It is important to consider where your resources are, and to remember your knowledge and opportunities offered by the Faculty of Health Sciences. Please always pay attention to maintain and develop your knowledge. The job market and working might create unexpected situations, but you will be able to react to these by using your knowledge and practical experiences. Do not be afraid of the unknown, remain optimistic and do not forget that future is the outcome of what we are doing in the present. Use the offered opportunities in your career path, since your results and personal success will also serve the development of health care”, said Dean Nagy.
After the speech of Dean Nagy, the graduating students were conferred upon the degree. The conferment ceremony was led by Dr. Ágoston Szél, Rector, Dr. Zoltán Zsolt Nagy, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences and Dr. István Vingender, Vice-Dean for Educational Affairs of the Faculty of Health Sciences.
On behalf of the Hungarian graduating students Ivett Baranyi addressed the audience, and on behalf of students participating in the English language programme Mathias Erik Jimmy Andersson held a farewell speech.
