Seven scientists, including Dr. Péter Csermely, professor at Semmelweis University’s Department of Medical Chemistry, Molecular Biology and Pathobiochemistry, received the Gábor Dénes Award. The distinctions were presented in the Hungarian Parliament.
The Gábor Dénes Award, established by the Novofer Foundation in 1989, recognises outstanding achievements in the fields of technical/intellectual creations, engineering, and technological developments.
Professor Péter Csermely received an In Memoriam distinction for his trendsetting work in the areas of networking and seeking out, embracing, nurturing, and supporting young talent, to which he has devoted many decades of hard work.
Dr. Csermely is president of the National Talent Support Council in Hungary, and was elected president of the European Council for High Ability (ECHA) in September 2012.
