The members of the Senate were informed about the adoption of the annual report of the University for the period from 1 August to 31 December 2021 according to the Accounting Act, and about the opinion of the consulting bodies. The report was already reviewed by the senators at the April 2022 meeting, and following the independent auditor’s report, the document was also approved by the institution’s Public Benefit Supervisory Board, the Supervisory Board of the National Foundation for Health and Medical Education, which maintains Semmelweis University, and the Board of Trustees.
The Admission Regulations of the Student Requirements System of the Organisational and Operational Rules (SZMSZ) have been amended. Accordingly, the rules for the admission procedure have been clarified and supplemented on the education in the field of conducting and pedagogical examination of conductor assistants and teachers started in the academic year 2021/22 at the András Pető Faculty. The decision mainly concerns the scoring of the oral admission procedure.
The Board decided to amend the rules of procedure of the Clinical Centre, changing the names of two organizational units: the Department of Conservative Dentistry will continue to operate as the Department of Restorative Dentistry and Endodontics, the Department of Minimally Invasive and Day Surgery will continue to operate as the Department of Multidisciplinary Day Surgery. The change was necessary due to the expansion of specialties and disciplines and the modification of the work carried out in the clinics.
A new optional course called PhD Scientific Days, is being launched to encourage more students to pursue PhD studies. To this end, participation in the PhD Scientific Days conference will be recognised as a credit course for the TDK (Students’ Scientific Association) students.
Pursuant to the decision of the Senate, several points of the Doctoral Regulations have been amended. The changes were justified by the change in the maintenance model, the creation of the Centre for Translational Medicine and the experience gained in accreditation procedures.
A new award called Iván Forgács Prize, has been created and will be awarded every year on Semmelweis Day. The award can be given to a faculty member or a teaching staff member of the Faculty of Health Sciences for their outstanding professional and human performance, for their community service, for their exemplary professional loyalty and dedication, enhancing the reputation of the faculty.
The Statutes of the Doctoral Students’ Self-Government have been amended to allow the election of the President to be conducted online and to make the handover process even smoother.
The Board decided on the award of the title of Professor Emeritus and also gave its opinion on two applications for senior positions.
Electronic voting on twenty university regulations
Following a three-day comment period, the Senate adopted the proposal for the amendment of twenty university regulations by an electronic vote that began on 12 May. The revision of the regulations has become necessary due to the new operational, organizational and funding conditions resulting from the change of model, the amendments include the provisions brought in line with them. The regulations concerned are: Code of Ethics, Communication and Website Rules, Internal Audit Manual, University Waiting List Rules, Unique Symbols Rules, Central Library Collection Rules, Information Transfer Rules, Information Technology Rules, Student Honors Rules, Health Reimbursement Rules, Drug Supply Rules, Library Use Rules, Onkoteam Rules, Claims Management Rules, Mission and Travel Reimbursement Rules, Contracting Rules, Rules on the Awarding of Honors and Prizes, Rules on Representation Expenses, Rules on Filing and Electronic Administration, Procedure for the Preparation of Regulatory Documents.
