Amendments to the Rules on Fees and Benefits (TJSZ) were adopted, mainly to bring the RFF into line with the Statute of the Student Self-Government and the position of the National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information. In line with the principle of data economy, the data content of the documents to be submitted in the context of the application for a social grant has been reduced.
The body gave its opinion on the application for a subject supervisor at the Asklepios Campus Hamburg (ACH). It decided on three new compulsory elective subjects to be introduced at ACH from the next academic year: Da Vinci Robotic Surgery, Basic Sonography Preparatory Course, Global Health.
Three minor changes have been made to the new curriculum introduced in the Faculty of Medicine from the 2019/20 academic year. Disaster Medicine has been added to the list of compulsory electives for the 2021/2022 academic year, the regulation of contact hours for thesis preparation has been modified and the number of compulsory electives to be included in the model curriculum has been specified.
The Senate decided to amend the rules on the awarding of the title of Professor Emeritus. This has created a uniform university-wide regulation which simplifies the process on certain points. Thus, it has been specified which positions are awarded the title without a nomination after retirement. It has been deleted that a maximum of five titles with benefits can be awarded per year, while it is emphasized that Professor Emerituses participate in the three core functions of the University.
A decision was also taken on the awarding of this year’s Professor Emeritus and Professor Honoris Causa titles: 12 persons were awarded the title of Professor Emeritus with an honorarium, 5 persons were awarded the title of Professor Emeritus without an honorarium, and one person was awarded the title of Professor Honoris Causa.
Current management and teaching and research proposals were also considered.
Senators voted in favor of a proposal to convert the fixed-term salary increase granted under the career-long teaching and research scheme into a permanent salary increase and to incorporate it into the basic salary. The amended appointment documents will be uploaded to the e-repository of the persons concerned.
The amendment to the Rules of Procedure (SZMSZ) concerning the extension of the tasks of the Directorate-General for Legal Affairs and Administration (JIF) was adopted. Among other things, the creation of a Directorate for Legal Representation within the JIF will go hand in hand with the abolition of certain contracts for lawyers; the transfer of tasks relating to internal control and companies from the Chancellor’s Office to the JIF; and the creation of a Directorate within the JIF to support the objectives of the Clinical Research Coordination Center.
Information was given on the draft Presidential Instruction of the Rector-Chancellor-Clinical Center on the change of the legal status and organizational structure of the Clinical Center and its financing conditions and internal system.
Information was also given on the audit of the stamps used by the university units for issuing documents and their registration. 204 units were involved in the audit, more than 600 stamps were examined, half of which were scrapped.
In the context of special topics, the Senate supported the proposal of Dr. Béla Merkely to award Pro Universitate lifetime achievement and Pro Universitate prizes to colleagues who have performed at a high level in the epidemic and was informed about the Rector’s proposal to award Pro Universitate medals. The recipients will receive their awards on Semmelweis Day.
The renewed coat of arms of the University was presented, which preserves the heraldic content in keeping with tradition, but enhances a modernized, streamlined appearance that can be used on all surfaces.
Also as part of the special section, Chancellor Dr. Lívia Pavlik informed the body about the main figures of the University’s financial management in the first quarter. On average, the University is performing on time and on target, at 25%.
