Semmelweis University honours every year those foreign professors of excellence who have given significant contribution to the development and the academic life of the university.

This year, five professors of high merit were awarded with the title Doctor Honoris Causa (DHC). The occasion on 7 November 2008 marked the 34th anniversary of this prestigious tradition, and the new Educational Centre of the Faculty of Dentistry hosted the event, where awardees, their guests as well as university leaders were present.

While receiving their DHC title, awardees pointed out the significance of our university in their illustrious professional careers. Besides being a recognition for one’s outstanding achievements, the Honorary Doctor title also ensures that the honoured professors remain in contact with the university, enhancing its reputation worldwide.
