Semmelweis University has signed a contract with one of the biggest clinical centres in Germany.
A joint European medical training programme has been outlined according to the plans of the cooperation agreement between LBK Hamburg (being part of the Asklepios Group, one of the main clinical chains in Germany) and Semmelweis University. Semmelweis University will expand its German language Medical course by a number of 42 students from the year 2008/2009. Having finished their two-year long theoretical studies in Budapest, students will continue the second part of their medical training at the world-wide recognised Asklepios institutes in Hamburg, Germany. At the end of the programme. students will receive a diploma issued by Semmelweis University that is acknowledged all over the EU. The project, which is the first ever training of this kind launched by a Hungarian university, is planned to span a time period of 15 years.
