The following photos were taken in the red zone and the Non-Invasive Respiratory Therapy Division of Semmelweis University’s Department of Pulmonology. Currently 87 patients are treated with coronavirus at the department, mainly with significant lung involvement, and in many cases with a known underlying lung disease. Patients receive respiratory therapy of different intensity, oxygen therapy, antimicrobial infusion treatments, intravenous nutrition during treatment in many cases and spend an average of 5-10 days at the department. Most patients can return to their homes after recovery.
Attila Kovács, photographer of the Directorate of Communication, spent almost an entire morning at the Department of Pulmonology, where he captured the moments of the morning medical visits and medical handover.
This is the second part of a series introducing the areas of the university that are mostly affected by COVID care.
