Based on the decree 10/2020. (III. 14.) issued by the Ministry of Human Capacities in the Hungarian Official Gazette, only emergency dental service is provided due to the emergency situation. Patient care units at the Department of Dentistry observe the following procedures.
The following dental procedures can be performed during the period of emergency:
. primary care of recent tooth injuries (re-installation, dental splints, dental dressing, extraction),
. treating tooth inflammations (opening up the tooth cavity, extraction),
. conservative treatment of alveolar inflammations and inflammations of the soft tissue around the wisdom tooth,
. opening up abscesses in the oral cavity,
. removal of foreign bodies obstructing swallowing and/or breathing,
. medication of acute inflammatory diseases of the oral mucosa and the lips,
. treating jaw strains,
. steadying broken jawbones,
. suppressing seizures caused by the by the trigeminal nerve by local anaesthetics, and
. reducing bleeding in or around the oral cavity (tampon, dressing, local treatment with topical anticoagulants, suture).
