Following the appointment of Dr. Attila Szabó, Vice-Rector for Clinical Affairs, as president of the Clinical Center (KK), the ten-member presidency of the KK has been re-established. Dr. János Réthelyi and Dr. István Takács have joined the body as new members.
The new members of the Presidency of the Clinical Center have accepted their letters of invitation. Previously, Dr. Attila Szabó, Vice-Rector for Clinical Affairs, was a member of the ten-member body before taking over as president of the KK, while Dr. László Tamás, the director of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, has been named rector’s commissioner in charge of IT affairs.
The new members of the body are Dr. János Réthelyi, director of the Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy, and Dr. István Takács, director of the 1st Department of Internal Medicine. The other members remain the same: Dr. Nándor Ács, acting director of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology; Dr. János Gál, director of the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Therapy; Dr. Balázs Hankó, Vice-Rector for Strategy and Development and the chief pharmacist of the Clinical Center; Dr. Péter Nyirády, director of the Department of Urology; Dr. György Szőke, director of the Department of Orthopedics representing the András Pető Faculty; Dr. Zsolt Zoltán Nagy, director of the Department of Ophthalmology representing the Faculty of Health Sciences; Dr. Péter Hermann, director of the Department of Prosthodontics representing the Faculty of Dentistry; and Dr. Eszter Sinkó, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Health and Public Administration.
The president of the KK is responsible for the organization of the health care service, and the Clinical Center includes all organizational units of the university that engage in healing, prevention and rehabilitation patient care activities, as well as additional organizational units that perform activities closely related to the operation of health care services. The Presidency of the Clinical Center is an advisory body providing support for the president and is led by the president. Another organizational unit under the direct management of the president of the Clinical Center is the Directorate General of Professional Leadership and Management, which has been led since the end of last year by Dr. József Gajdácsi.
As the supervisory institution, the Ministry of Human Capacities approved in November 2018 the appointment of Dr. Attila Szabó, the director of the 1st Department of Pediatrics and since July 1, 2018 also the vice-rector for clinical affairs, as the president of the Clinical Center.
