Times Higher Education has recently published its ranking in which altogether 980 higher education institutions are listed. Semmelweis University, similarly to last year, is ranked as -501-600. Higher education institutions are ranked according to five different aspects, and our university has performed best in the field of international outlook.
This world university ranking evaluates the institutions by considering the indicators of five major areas: education, research, impact factor, industrial income and international outlook. The major strength of Semmelweis University out of these areas is international outlook, on the basis of the number of publications related to international collaborations and the rate of foreign students.
Hungary is represented by seven universities in this list, out of which Semmelweis University is ranked as the second best. Central European University (CEU) is ranked as -301-350, while the University of Szeged, the University of Pécs, Eötvös Loránd University and Budapest University of Technology and Economics can be found in the ranking of -601-800. The University of Debrecen is ranked in the category 800+.
The following institutions can be found in the first three places of the recent Times Higher Education world university ranking: the University of Oxford came as first, California Institute of Technology as the second, and Stanford University is ranked as the third.
