European Network for Health Technology Assessment (EUnetHTA) – Joint Action 3
Joint Action 3
01/06/2016 – 31/05/2020
About the project
There were two previous joint actions concerning health technology assessment, namely EUnetHTA Joint Action 1 (2006-2009) and EUnetHTA Joint Action 2 (2012-2015). As also noted in the 2015 annual workplan of the Health Programme, EUnetHTA JA3 was launched in 2016 and expected to last for 4 years. From Hungary, the Ministry of Human Resources nominated two institutes to participate, one of them is Semmelweis University (SU), the other one is the National Institute of Pharmacy and Nutrition (NIPN). The NIPN also participated in earlier JAs through its Department of Health Technology Assessments. SU is one of the newcoming participants of EUnetHTA.
The general aim of EUnetHTA is to facilitate the use, quality and efficiency of HTA reports on European level. The HTA joint actions were needed to make a contribution for evidence-based, sustainable and equitable decisions in health care and health technologies, and to enhance the production of national and regional HTA reports and other related activites, while also preventing parallel workflows. In order to achieve all of the above, the specific goal of EUnetHTA is to create the sustainable network of health technology assessment, which can operate beyond the 2020 completion of the joint action.
