Filipino doctors received a short self-financed vocational training at the 2nd Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, organized by Proxymm International LLP. and the Directorate of International Relations of Semmelweis University. In three cycles, a total of sixty doctors attended the training programme organized for the first time in May, where they were given a comprehensive overview of the Hungarian healthcare system and the university’s activity, as well as professional lectures and a clinic visit.

The professional programme was organized by Dr. Nándor Ács, Director of the 2nd Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. The three lectures were held by Dr. István Szabó, associate professor, Dr. István Kocsis, associate professor, and Dr. Csaba Demendi, associate professor in current obstetrics and gynaecology topics. The visit to the clinic was guided by Dr. Nándor Ács and Dr. Szabolcs Várbíró, associate professor. During the visit, the participants visited among others the labour rooms, the operating rooms and the neonatal intensive care unit.

The success of the programme is proved also by the fact that the Singaporean organization would like to continue the training in the future. According to the schedule, Filipino specialists in internal medicine will participate in a professional training programme on the chronic consequences of diabetes and its rehabilitation at the 2nd Department of Internal Medicine in September.
