At the September meeting, senators were informed of the results of the online vote following the extraordinary Senate meeting in August. The board approved the announcement of the elective course Introduction to Scuba Diving in the undivided training programs, as well as the launch of a specialized training course in traditional Chinese medicine. The board voted on the subject requirements for the Faculty of Medicine (ÁOK), Asklepios Campus Hamburg, and the master’s program in Pharmaceutical Innovation and Business Administration, as well as modifications to the ÁOK curriculum. The amendments to the Students’ Union Statutes and Study and Examination Regulations were approved. The Information Security Regulations were adopted.
The board voted on the Senate’s work plan for 2025 and listened to the university’s financial report for the first half of the year; the latter was presented by Chancellor Dr. Lívia Pavlik. According to the financial report, the projected result for 2025 is HUF 8,432 million. In the first half of 2025, the actual result exceeded the planned HUF 5,677 million by HUF 2,861 million. The funds available for investment amount to approximately HUF 11 billion, of which HUF 4.5 billion will be allocated to the strategic fund, while the remaining funds will be used through the University Investment and Development Fund, the Clinical Center Investment Fund, and the faculty investment funds. Actual healthcare revenues in the first half of the year amounted to HUF 100 billion, compared to the annual target of HUF 199 billion, and are expected to be in line with plans for the year. The annual higher education revenue plan is HUF 76.6 billion, with HUF 37.4 billion planned for the period and HUF 37.5 billion achieved. The university has met the training and scientific indicators set out in the Public Task Financing Contract, thanks to which both the planned annual income of 12.6 billion forints in performance-based basic subsidies and the 1.98 billion forints in performance-based quality subsidies will be realized in full, in accordance with the plans.
The senators approved the expansion of the university’s real estate assets. According to the title deed,a 67-square-metre apartment, registered at 3-5 Gaál József Street but located at 64-66 Városmajor Street, will be converted into a daycare center for children aged 1 to 3 whose parents work at the Városmajor Clinical Block.
A decision has been made to introduce a new subject as an elective course starting in the fall semester of the 2025/26 academic year. The Higher Education National Defense course consists of two modules and a summer internship. It can be attended by 200 students, and three credits are awarded for completing each module. The Department of Defense, Disaster Management, and Law Enforcement provides the curriculum for the in-person course. Successful completion of the course entitles participants to take part in voluntary summer military reserve training and earn seven credits.
According to the Senate’s decision, participation in the joint conference organized by the university and the Hungarian Neuroscience Society is recognized as an elective course worth one credit for a maximum of 100 students. The senators voted on changes to the composition of the Committee for the Review of Students’ Judicial Remedy Appeals and the Habilitation Committee, with regard to PhD students.
The Organizational and Operational Rules and certain university regulations have been amended. The board clarified the access of students participating in research to health and patient data, as well as the usability of such data and the regulations governing the use of artificial intelligence in connection with Doctoral College, Students’ Scientific Association, and impromptu papers. Two further amendments to legal technicalities were also adopted.
The Senate approved the election of the new head of the Mental Health Sciences Division at the Doctoral College. The senators also reviewed current leadership and faculty applications, and voted on lecturer titles, state and ministerial honors nominations for 2026, and bonuses.
