Senate members adopted the work plan for fall 2024.
They voted to renew the membership of the Committee for the Review of Students’ Judicial Remedy Appeals, whose term expires at the end of October this year. They also voted to renew the membership of the Committee for Students’ Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities, whose three-year mandate expired in September. It was also decided to renew the term of office of the Committee for Pharmaceutical Therapy, Infection and Antibiotics Control, whose three-year mandate expired in October.
The senators decided to amend certain provisions of the Organizational and Operational Rules. Accordingly, the Directorate General of Strategic Organizational Development was established under the rector’s direction, comprising the Directorate of Strategic Data Analysis, the Competence Center, and the Center for Family-friendly Policies. The new unit will support data-driven decision making for the university’s employees by understanding the linkages between operational tasks and strategic decisions on human resources, and by developing an organizational unit-level performance analysis system. In addition to performance appraisal and analysis, the new directorate general will also be responsible for executive training, career development planning, as well as competency and change management. Due to the changes, efficiently run and managed organizational units with their own revenues are expected to have even more freedom in human resources matters in the future. The Senate decided to replace the Directorate General of Financial Management with two new units under the direction of the chancellor: the Directorate General of Finances and Asset Management and the Directorate General of Budget and Controlling. This change was necessary because the tasks involved in management were becoming increasingly complex and required a different structure and organization. The two new directorates general will take over the tasks previously carried out by the deputy directors general according to the previous Senate decision.
The board decided on the conferral of the 2024 Semmelweis Budapest Award, the Ignác Semmelweis, Gedeon Richter, Vilma Hugonnai, Tivadar Huzella, Ernő Jendrassik, and Mária Hári commemorative medals and prizes, as well as the Pro Universitate Award. A decision was also taken on the application for the position of course leader at Asklepios Campus Hamburg.
The modification of the curriculum for the training of students who have been admitted to the Faculty of Medicine after graduating from the Faculty of Dentistry, introduced from the academic year 2023/24, was voted. The change was necessary due to modifications introduced within the framework of Curriculum 2.0.
In September, the Senate also took decisions in two electronic procedures. In the first procedure, dated September 12, it approved the modification of the curriculum for the training of doctors introduced at the Faculty of Medicine from the academic year 2024/2025; it also modified the Employment Requirements System. In the second procedure, on September 27, the Senate decided to update and amend 14 university regulations. The president of the Senate reported on the outcome of the procedures at the meeting.
