According to the Rector-Chancellor-Clinical Center Order No. RKE/5/2021 (XI.12.), epidemiological measures must be ensured on the university campus, therefore from 15 November 2021, the use of masks covering the nose and mouth is mandatory for employees, patients and visitors in closed areas after entering the buildings of the university.
Exceptions to the order are patients in hospital wards, children under the age of 6 and persons with intellectual or psychosocial disabilities or autism spectrum disorders.
In addition to wearing masks, polite distancing, frequent hand-washing or hand-sanitizing and increased compliance with hygiene rules are recommended in the institution.
Following the measures introduced nationally, Semmelweis University is closed to visitors from 1 November 2021.
In order to stop the coronavirus epidemic, Rector Dr. Béla Merkely strongly recommends a third vaccination for anyone who has had the previous vaccination for more than 4 months.
