Semmelweis University has made significant progress, becoming the best Hungarian higher education in the latest Times Higher Education (THE) Ranking by subject. In the field of Clinical & Health Sciences Semmewleis University is among the top 200 higher education institutions and in the category of Life Sciences the university has been included in the top 300.

Semmelweis University is the best Hungarian higher education institution according to the latest Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings by subject. In the category of Clinical & Health Sciences, the university has advanced 45 places and is ranked in the 76-200 range compared to last year’s 201-250 range: it is the 186th based on its performance indicators. The other Hungarian medical schools were ranked 401-500.

In the field of Life Sciences, Semmewleis University has moved up 60 places from 301-400 last year to the 251-300 range: based on the performance indicators it is ranked 257th. The other Hungarian medical universities were ranked 501-600 and 601-800.

The institutions are ranked based on the performance indicators of five areas. Semmelweis University made the greatest progress in education and citations. The other indicators assess research activities, international outlook and industry revenues.  

Each year Times Higher Education releases the ranking of institutions categorized by subjects. This time the lists of four categories have been released, with Semmelweis University appearing in two.
