The “Letters to the Future” initiative was launched at the 250-year-old Semmelweis University’s jubilee opening ceremony of the academic year in 2019. Under this initiative, messages can now be sent online as well to future Semmelweis Citizens. The collected letters are to be opened and read by our successors in 2069, at the university’s 300th anniversary.

The “Letters to the Future” program was launched at the opening ceremony of the jubilee 2019/2020 academic year, under which anyone can send messages to future Semmelweis Citizens in the year 2069. While initially letters could be dropped in collection boxes set up at various events of the anniversary year, from now on – adapting to the pandemic situation – the electronic form below can also be used to send messages to the future. The deadline for sending messages is May 31, 2021.

The letters will be kept in a time capsule for 50 years by Semmelweis University, and – according to our plans – the messages will be opened and revealed to the Semmelweis Citizens of the future in 2069, at the 300th anniversary of the institution.
