Medicina Yearbook analyzing national health care and health industry in details was introduced for the first time online this year, it is the 8th time it was published. At the event the Medicina Awards were handed over to the recipients, which were awarded on the basis of the applications submitted by health care providers, health industry participants and medical doctors. The Outstanding Young Pharmacist PhD Award was given to Dr. Adrienn Kazsoki, assistant lecturer at the University Pharmacy Department of Pharmacy Administration, and the Medic of the Year 2020 Award was given to Dr. Dávid Major, employee of the Department of Public Health.

On the occasion of the online award ceremony of Medicina 2020, the Outstanding Young Pharmacist PhD Award as well as the Medic of the Year 2020 Award were presented to the recipients. The award for pharmacists, who have outstanding achievements in drug research was awarded to Dr. Adrienn Kazsoki, assistant lecturer at the University Pharmacy Department of Pharmacy Administration, who conducts her research focusing on the formulation and examination of nanofiber drug delivery systems. Her mentor is Dr. Romána Zelkó, department head. So far, 13 of Dr. Kazsoki’s publications have been published in prestigious international journals, and currently she is participating in a grant application on educational development, focusing on digital curriculum development of the courses offered by the department.

The Medic of the Year 2020 Award is awarded to medics, who achieved excellent results in their medical studies and who perform scientific tasks and public duties. This year, the award was given to Dr. Dávid Major, employee of the Department of Public Health, who is also coordinator of the health education program of Semmelweis University (Balassagyarmati Egészségnevelő Program). Dr. Dávid Major has a significant scientific publication activity in sport cardiology besides health development, his commitment to raising public awareness is exemplary, he plays an important role in epidemiological control.

Dr. Miklós Szócska, director of the Health Services Management Training Centre also held a presentation at the online event. In the framework of the award ceremony, Medicina Yearbook was also introduced, in which health care institutions and participants are ranked based on several aspects in addition to 52 analytic reports. It is the 8th time that the yearbook has been published.
