In response to the current epidemic BDPST Group, a real estate development company provided immediate financial support to the 1st Department of Paediatrics, which was used to purchase 1,000 respiratory masks (FFP2). The masks were distributed among the health care units of the university, which provided protection for the healthcare workers for some days.

Respiratory masks play a crucial role in protecting healthcare workers in the frontline of the fight against the epidemic from the risk of infection. The prompt financial aid of the BDPST Group and well-coordinated cooperation enabled the procurement of 1,000 FFP2 respiratory masks through the foundation of the 1st Department of Paediatrics.

This was not the first occasion for the collaboration of BDPST Group and Semmelweis University. Last summer, the company donated nearly 34 million forints to the Bókay Children’s Hospital Public Foundation, which was used to purchase a life-saving Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation device.

Semmelweis University is the largest healthcare service provider in Hungary. Most of the departments of the university cater for patients coming from all over Hungary, thus they play a leading role in the treatment of patients with severe conditions requiring complex care.

In addition to Semmelweis University, BDPST Group provided financial aid to the Uzsoki Street Hospital to purchase two modern ventilators. “The current situation requires cooperation, everybody has to aid the fight against the epidemic with their own means. I believe, we need to set an example.”, said István Tiborcz, majority owner of BDPST Group.
