Semmelweis University has decided to postpone the Semmelweis 250 Clinical Conference scheduled for 9-10 March 2020 and hold the conference at a later date, as several of the event’s key international guests have been forced to cancel their participation, due to the restrictions implemented in various countries in relation to the coronavirus situation. In addition, the first coronavirus cases in Hungary were announced yesterday, with one of the affected patients who has been confirmed to have the infection being a student of the university. Semmelweis University will hold the two-day program, which is a key event of the university’s 250th anniversary year, at a later date.
The March 7 program of the prevention-themed Semmelweis Health Days event for the public will also be held at a later date, sometime in May. All those who registered for the event will be informed of the cancellation and the new date for the event.
Patient care at the departments and clinics of Semmelweis University remains uninterrupted, with all scans and examinations proceeding as planned.
