70 physiotherapy students started their studies at the Faculty of Health Sciences’ off campus training at the L.U.de.S.– University of Human Sciences and Technology of Lugano. Thus, almost 260 students are currently enrolled in the programme at the Swiss institution – 58 of them study in English while the rest in Italian. The newly accepted students were greeted by Dr. Zoltán Zsolt Nagy, dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences.
Semmelweis University’s Faculty of Health Sciences established an English language off campus BSc programme at the Lugano institution in 2009. The interest has continuously grown over the years in the northern regions of Italy as well, therefore the first Italian language class was launched in February 2013. The first graduating class received their diplomas last year. Excellent healthcare professional are much sought after in the region of the Swiss institution, i.e. in France, Switzerland and Italy.
The Faculty of Health Sciences hopes that a dietician programme may be launched soon which has already attracted a great deal of interest.
