Dr. Miklós Tóth has been appointed dean of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport Sciences, taking over the post from Dr. József Tihanyi.
Dr. Tihanyi had served as rector of the Hungarian University of Physical Education from 1994 until its integration into Semmelweis University (as the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport Sciences) in 2000. During the integration period, he served as dean and vice-rector for integration, playing a significant role in the restructuring of the Faculty’s educational system. In 2007, Dr. Tihanyi was reappointed dean, a position he held until the current change in leadership.
In recognition of his outstanding and tireless work, Dr. Tihanyi received the Eötvös József award in June 2011, a distinction accorded to educators who, through their life’s work, have demonstrated a true commitment to the teaching profession.
Dean Miklós Tóth, Director of the Department of Health Sciences and Sport Medicine, served as Vice-Rector of Science and Innovation prior to his appointment.
