Semmelweis University on a new international list

Six Hungarian universities have been included in the Times Higher Education’s The BRICS and Emerging Economies Rankings 2016. Among the Hungarian universities Semmelweis University is the best by occupying the 64th place of the list. The ranking comparing the higher institutions of the emerging economies and the BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) has been published for the third time. This year’s list is led by two Chinese universities (Peking University and Tsinghua University), and a Russian university (Lomonosov Moscow State University). The ranking includes 200 universities from 48 countries.

Semmelweis University enters new ranking of higher education institutions

For the first time, Semmelweis University was included in the U.S. News’ latest ranking of higher education institutions. The list is based on the academic reputation of the universities. All together there are 750 universities on this list where the first place is taken by Harvard University. Universities of almost 60 countries were compared in the ranking, Semmelweis University taking the 736th place.

Semmelweis among the top 600 universities in the world

The London based Times Higher Education has recently published the World University Rankings 2015-2016, listing the top 800 universities in the world, including Semmelweis University. The list contains six Hungarian higher education institutions, out of which Semmelweis University ranked between 501 and 600, thus being the best of the six.

The ranking compares institutions based on the results of five areas: teaching, research, citation, industry income and international outlook. Semmelweis University had the best results in the field of international outlook .
