SYNAPSIST’17 Summer School
WITH A NEW TOPIC: CANCER
Synapsist is a one-week summer school at Koç University, Istanbul.
The Campus is one the most beautiful districts of Istanbul where you can contemplate the Bosporus, Black Sea, and the 3rd bridge all at once. You can also enjoy the landscape and breath in some fresh air thanks to forest surrounding Koç University. The campus is 35 minutes away from the city center, 15 minutes away from the nearest metro station. See in this video
Renowned Professors will give lectures, seminars, and presentations on various topics about cancer.
· In Synapsist’17, we are hosting Professor Johann de Bono, is one of the leading scientists in the field of prostate cancer.
· Other than that, 15 professors who specialized in different branches of medicine will broaden your perspective on cancer by giving interactive lectures.
· Almost all the lectures will follow new and innovative methods to better integrate the attendees into the topics.
· Jigsaw Puzzle Lectures, Focus Group Lecture, Panel Discussion, Case Study, etc.
· We will also spend a day at Koç University Hospital, where you will have the opportunity to witness A Live Surgery! Our hospital is equipped with the state of the art technology. Have a look at

After the academic program, we will spend the rest of the day enjoying the beauty of Istanbul! With our Social Program, you will be able to explore and experience nearly all the eminent natural and historical sights of Istanbul.
The program includes but is not limited to:
- A Gala Dinner where we will experience the amazing view of the Bosporus at first night.
- An enjoyable night at one of the most famous nightclubs in Istanbul with the view of the Bosporus view. Click here to see the place!
- A Full Day of City Tour visiting important landmarks like the Topkapı Palace, Hagia Sophia, Sultanahmet Square. Plus, you will get the chance to try delicious traditional Turkish foods! We are sure the cultural heritage of Istanbul will fascinate you. Check this blog for a preview!
- We will continue the evening with a Special Boat Party on the Bosporus! The captivating panorama of Istanbul will amaze you while you are cruising between Europe and Asia! During our cruise, we will appreciate three bridges, Galata tower, Blue mosque, Dolmabahce Palace, historical Haydarpasa train station, the Maiden’s Tower, Rumelihisari, Belgrade forests in the north, Golden horn, Pierre loti…
- Traditional Turkish Fasıl Night! You will experience one of the most famous meals in Turkey “Raki and Fish” while the traditional music goes on in the background.
- An unforgettable night at Taksim! We will spend evening at the famous Taksim square to feel the lively spirit of the city.
