“Currently there are 200,000 students studying at the University of Damascus. This number has drastically increased since the beginning of the civil war, because we have accommodated students from universities affected by the war, thus enabling them to continue their studies.”, the President said.

Dr. György Bagdy introduced the different programmes of Semmelweis University and informed the delegation about the language choices. On the other hand, Dr. Péter Hermann gave a detailed account of the admission procedures to undergraduate courses and to the School of Ph.D Studies.

Dr. Marcel Pop said that Semmelweis University occupies a prestigious position in research and in the Hungarian health care system, therefore there is an over enrolment each year, especially for the programmes at the Faculty of Medicine.
