The department was opened in 1909 and has been conducting drug studies since 1946. To date, hundreds of clinical pharmacology studies have been successfully completed there. The Phase I Unit complies with all relevant principles of modern research. Since its accreditation in 2005, around 50 successful phase I studies and several audits have been conducted on the site. The Phase I Unit has a close cooperation with all other departments of the University, therefore it has the ability to carry out researches in all fields of science. Besides the four clinical pharmacologists employed at the unit, many other university researchers take part in the trials.
