The university’s RDI development strategy aims at increasing the amount of translational research, therefore we strive to harness the potential of our numerous clinical departments. Our main focus is channeling the results of these efforts into building an innovation ecosystem. The flagship of this new ecosystem will be a Health Industry-Biotechnology Science Park, an umbrella organization gathering entrepreneurs, investors, inventors and educational institutions, which also manages the existing and newly built research infrastructure.

We created the concept of Science Park to make a significant leap and introduce a revolutionary new way of thinking to Semmelweis University with partners that complement our knowledge. It is the culmination of the university’s new research-development and innovation strategy creating an environment for close and efficient cooperation between industry partners and university researchers to enable the development of innovations from ideas to their application and adaption in the industry.

The initiative is to be realized in cooperation with Pázmány Péter Catholic University and the National University of Public Service to promote research, development and innovation-related commercial activity through collaborative research and strategic partnerships.
