Announcement for 2024 Public Work Benefit
The Committee for the Evaluation of Public Work Benefits of Semmelweis University (hereinafter: the Committee) shall announce a description for the awarding of the János Szentágothai Benefit in 2024 in accordance with Act CCIV of 2011 on National Higher Education Section 85 / C (c), No. 51/2007 Coll. (III.26.) Government Decree § 10 (4) and Semmelweis University Organizational and Operational Regulations III.4. Pursuant to Section 8 (1) – (4) of the Reimbursement and Allowance Regulations (hereinafter: TJSZ, in Hungarian: Térítési és Juttatási Szabályzat).
The Szentágothai János Benefit is a non-compulsory grant paid to students who carry out activities supporting the advocacy, well-being, rise of their cultural, health, and community lives, and the promotion of the University.
I. SCOPE OF BENEFICIARIES:
Application for the Szentágothai János Benefit is open to students participating in full-time, undergraduate education, unified education, master’s education, higher education vocational training, and doctoral training.
The Szentágothai János Benefit is open to students who:
- are an elected official/ representative/ member of the Students’ Union, or
- performs outstanding public activities in University public life that go beyond the curriculum requirements.
II. HOW TO SUBMIT THE APPLICATION:
1. Location of submission:
Applications can be submitted in Neptun: “Administration -> Requests -> Available request forms” menu items.
2. Time period of submission:
Application periods for activities in 2024
- The application period for public activities carried out before January 31, 2024 February 1-8
- The application period for public activities carried out before February 29, 2024 March 1-8
- The application period for public activities carried out before March 31, 2024 April 1-8
- The application period for public activities carried out before April 30, 2024 May 1-8
- The application period for public activities carried out before May 31, 2024 June 1-8
- The application period for public activities carried out before June 30, 2024 July 1-8
- The application period for public activities carried out before July 31, 2024 August 1-8
- The application period for public activities carried out before August 31, 2024 September 1-8
- The application period for public activities carried out before September 30, 2024 October 1-8
- The application period for public activities carried out before October 31, 2024 November 1-8
- The application period for public activities carried out before November 30, 2024 December 1-8
- The application period for public activities carried out before December 31, 2025 January 1-8
Failure to comply with the time limit shall lapse the right for submission. There is no possibility to correct any mistakes or missing documents. By the end of the application period (point II.2), the applicant must submit his/her application. The application is considered submitted if the application is listed under Neptun – Administration menu – Requests menu item – Submitted requests.
The application is individual, so in the case of group applications, it is necessary for each student participating in the group activity to submit a separate application.
III. Certificates and documents to be submitted:
The application must be accompanied by a report containing a short description of the activities on which the application is based, as well as a certificate of completion. The application guide is available at this link.
IV. Criteria and deadline for assessment; body or personnel empowered to assess the submission:
The right to the sum of the benefit is assessed based on the factors mentioned in point III, and the content of each report. The amount is proposed by the President of the Students’ Union (in the case of the President of the Students’ Union the proposal is done by the other members of the Committee), based on the content of the resolution of the Students’ Union Delegates’ Meeting containing the maximum amounts assigned to typical tasks, responsibilities, and activities.
Deadline for judging: 15 days after the end of the submission period.
The evaluation is carried out by the Committee according to Section 8 (3) of the TJSZ, it decides on the awarding and the amount of the benefit. Applicants for the benefit may not take part in judging their own application.
V. Additional information:
a) Appropriate documents
- The electronic PDF documents with a limited maximum size will be accepted as attachments.
- Multi-page documents are valid only when all pages are uploaded.
- In the case of non-Hungarian language documents, the reviewer may request the uploading of his/her own translation.
- The documents must be uploaded in the appropriate places on the electronic application form. Only documents uploaded to the correct place will be considered for judging.
- In addition to the sample report, non-members of the Presidium of the Students’ Union, are required to upload a certificate of completion, which must be signed by a member of the Presidium closest to him/her, thus certifying that the indicated work has been completed.
b) Data management
- The President of the Students’ Union, the personnel authorized by him, and the Committee are entitled to handle and process the personal data provided during the application. This data will only be used for the evaluation and processing of the submitted application.
- In connection with the processing and protection of personal data, the applicant may apply to the National Data Protection and Freedom of Information Authority, as well as seek legal redress.
c) The personnel preparing the review may give the opportunity to correct the application after submission.
