We are glad to have your interest in Specialty Training Program at Semmelweis University.
Specialty courses are available at the Faculty of Dentistry at Semmelweis University, ending with a specialty exam in the following fields:
- Pedodontics
- Orthodontics
- Dento-alveolar Surgery
- Prosthodontics
The program is 36 months long, includes a practical and a theoretical part.
- Mandatory cours (9 * 6 45 min long lectures)
- Clinical practice at Semmelweis University Faculty of Dentistry (Dento-alveolar surgery 6 months long, Pedodontics, Orthodontics and Prosthodntics 3 months long)
- ER course
- Semi-final exam
- Consultations (4 semester, 5 consultations/semester)
The specialty training is based on working in a dental office (at least 36 hours/week) under a tutor’s supervision (at least 30 hours/week). This requires some basic knowledge of the Hungarian language, to be able to communicate with patients.
After fulfilling the three-year program, participants have a permission to take the specialty exam in Hungary and have a certificate about it when they passed it successfully.
Participants are advised to collect information before starting the program about the acceptance of the certificate abroad.
The planned tuition fee up to the 2026/2027 academic year: 30.000 EUR/ YEAR. (∑ 90.000 EUR)

Requirements of the application:
- Recognized diploma – If your diploma is issued outside of Hungary, it must be recognized in Hungary, because you can treat patients only with a recognized diploma.

Applicants need to find an accredited place of training by themselves.
- Acceptance form by an accredited place of training
- Tutor’s declaration of supervising the trainee
- Valid residence and working permit
- Valid TAX number, address card and Hungarian Social Security (TAJ) card
- Copy of health aptitude test result
