The general objective of the program is to support lifelong learning and professional and personal development in education and training in Europe, thus contributing to sustainable growth, quality jobs, social cohesion, innovation, European identity and active citizenship.
The program enables students, educators and other staff to gain educational, professional and cultural experience in another European country, encourages cooperation and strategic partnerships between higher education institutions, promotes policy reforms and the modernization of education systems.
 

Following the success of the program in 2014-2020, a new phase of the program was launched in 2021 to run until 2027, with a budget of more than €26 billion. In addition to the previous objectives, the focus of the new seven-year cycle of the program is on inclusion, digitalization, environment and social responsibility.

ERASMUS+ AT SEMMELWEIS UNIVERSITY

Semmelweis University has been part of the Erasmus program since the beginning. Over the years, there has been growing interest in the program among Hungarian and international students wishing to study abroad and among students coming to our university from abroad. In the past few years, the number of incoming and outgoing students has been over 100.

The students of Semmelweis University can choose from the study mobility program and the traineeship mobility program. Both types are available to Semmelweis University’s and to incoming international students too.
