Main Research project:
We are looking for a highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral fellow who will be running an extremely exciting translational project in paralel with an ongoing clinical phase I trial. We are using a unique method in Hungary where we directly reprogram patients fibroblasts into induced neurons. These transdifferentiated neurons which do not undergo any clonal selection, stem cell or neuroprogenitor phase keep the genetic and epigenetic ageing signature of the donor therefore providing a new and exciting model to study ageing and age-related neurodegenerative diseases. The project aims to test the drug used in the phase I trial on the patients fibroblasts derived neurons for safety and efficiacy.
