The rules for the application and admission to the dormitory are set out in Semmelweis University’s Organizational and Operational Regulations – Book III. Student Standards – Part III.4 Allowance and Fee Payment Regulations (hereinafter: AFPR).

Newly admitted students can apply for dormitories in August and the application usually lasts for 15 days. The social/welfare status and the entrance examination performance are taken into account during the scoring. Candidates are ranked in descending order based on both, and get sub-scores from 0 to 60 based on their place in the rankings. The sum of these is the final score between 0 and 120.

For senior years, dormitory applications are in April / May / June, which also lasts for 15 days in general. In this case, the social/welfare staus, the credit-weighted average of the last completed semester, and community activity are taken into account in the scoring. A maximum of 40-40-40 points are available for these, depending on their position in the ranking.
