Semmelweis University has been participating in the Researchers’ Night for the past several years. In 2012, more than 4000 people were interested in the University’s spectacular and unconventional programmes. Participants could choose from nearly 130 programmes offered by 30 departments, and were given access to areas that are otherwise closed to the public.
This initiative seeks to present research results that, no matter how significant, have not reached the general population, or had been presented in a way not easily understood. The event also allows young people to discover the beauty of the medical field, and provides those considering a career in health care with a thorough introduction to the institution.
In addition to the spectacular programmes and lectures, the previous years have also featured diverse forms of entertainment for participants, including performances by classical ensembles, pop bands, singers, and dancers, as well as food tasting events.
