Become a Language Teaching Assistant!
The Language Teaching Assistant Program offers you the opportunity to put your language skills, professional knowledge, and international experience to use in university-level professional language education.
You can participate in professional language classes and Language Club activities, support your fellow students, and take part in realistic communication scenarios as a simulated patient or healthcare professional.
What do we offer?
– Participation in multilingual professional language education
With native or advanced-level language skills, you can join professional language classes in English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Russian, or Hungarian. You can help students practice authentic language use, accurate pronunciation, and natural professional communication.
– Participation in the Language Club program
As a Language Club tutor, you can support your fellow students in practicing languages in a relaxed and friendly environment, as well as lead conversations and interactive language activities.
– Training to become a simulated patient
You can learn how to portray a patient or family member authentically and consistently in educational settings, as well as how to provide constructive feedback to participants. Simulated patient exercises can be conducted in any of the languages taught in the program.
– Patient communication practice
You can take part in realistic, sometimes challenging communication scenarios, such as taking a medical history, conducting a patient examination, or practicing doctor–patient conversations in the language of the relevant professional language class.
– Participation in Hungarian-language education for international students
If you communicate well in Hungarian, you can support international students in practicing Hungarian language and professional communication as a simulated patient, particularly in Hungarian-language scenarios involving medical history taking and patient examinations.
– Professional skills development
You can develop your communication, teaching, feedback, teamwork, and intercultural skills.
Who are we looking for?
– Reliable and open-minded students
We welcome students who enjoy working in educational settings and are reliable, precise, and cooperative.
– Students with advanced language skills
We are particularly interested in students who speak English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, or Hungarian at a native or advanced level.
– International students who communicate well in Hungarian
Students with an appropriate level of Hungarian can also participate in Hungarian-language simulated patient exercises. No additional foreign-language skills are required for these activities.
– Students interested in professional language and communication
The program is ideal for students interested in healthcare terminology, patient communication, supporting language learning, or simulation-based education.
