As part of the school year closing ceremony a new relief of András Pető has been unveiled at the Villányi Campus of the Faculty. Jubilee and retirement awards were also handed over.

As the school days of the 2021/22 academic year has come to an end the András Pető Faculty of the Semmelweis University has held its traditional year closing ceremony on the 17th of June, 2022.

In her opening speech Dr. Renáta Földesi, head of the Institute of Conductive Pedagogy expressed that finally there will be a worthy memento of András Pető at the original location of the conductive pedagogy. She also reminded the audience how the professor raised very high standards for conductive pedagogy and his legacy must be upheld for the future. The new relief is neighbouring the relief of Mária Hári – András Pető’s protegee and the second director of the insitutions after Pető’s death – reflecting upon their connection and the history of conductive pedagogy.

The relief was unveiled by Dr. Andrea Dr. Tenk Miklósné Zsebe, Dean and Dr. Éva Feketéné Szabó, Vice-rector for Strategy and Development, who then enwreathed the artpiece created by István Bánkúti and financed by the Tégy a Pető Intézet Gyermekeiért Foundation and the Pető Intézet Konduktív Iskolája Közhasznú Foundation.

The programme continued in the garden of the campus where Dr. Éva Feketéné Szabó expressed her gratitude for the hard work to the colleagues of the Faculty. She mentioned the achievments in both the infrastructure and the human resources development: just in this year 11 new conductor colleagues got employed by the faculty.

Dr. Andrea Dr. Tenk Miklósné Zsebe talked about the 5 strategic areas of the faculty: organizational development, curriculum development, scientific activities, internationalization and infrastructure development. Many problems has been solved during this year with good results and of course there many to solve in the next year as well! Introducing a new educational programme, some more infrastructure development and the accreditation of the master programme are among them.
