Autumn rolled around with morning mist, early darkness and falling leaves. Unfortunately, the second wave of the virus pulled up too. Due to that, we are all in lockdown again and the fall-winter brunches, coffee dates and dining out is most likely postponed till spring. This does not mean that we are left out here alone with our questionable cooking skills, since most restaurants thought ahead and quickly started delivering to our doorsteps. As a continuation of “The Hidden Treasures of Budapest” article from this month’s issue, we have prepared some suggestions for you. Let it be lunch or dinner, if you are unable to make some, we’ve got you covered. We will be back with more restaurants and dine-in spots later. For now, take a look at these:
- Pitagorasz: Most of us know about this spot in Kálvin, so I’m happy to break the news: they do delivery! Fortunately, their delivered food is just as good as the one you can pick up at their restaurant. Classic Greek gyros with fries, tzatziki and a variety of extras. Big portions for a low price. - Planet Sushi: The name speaks for itself, Planet Sushi brings the flavours of Japan to your doorstep. From sushi, to ramen, miso soup and many udon noodle dishes. If you have the craving, order a box for you and your friends. You won’t be disappointed.
- Fasírtfutár: From meatloafs to meatballs, and many other home made dishes like ratatouille, French toast and numerous diet-friendly options. Let’s face it, meatballs are the “it” food, and prepared in multiple ways with many different flavours just makes it our absolute favourite.
- Pesti Pipi (Pipi means a young bird, chick): Found in various locations in the city. We have some good news: the chicks will come to you this time around. Plenty of different hamburgers and meat dishes to fill the void inside of us, for the perfect pricing.
- +1: The local small companies need our support more than ever. At the same time I know how good a cheeseburger or chicken strips sound, so don’t worry, McDonalds, KFC or even Zing Burger deliver too. Find them on Wolt and NetPincér, or directly on their respective websites.
