Dear Students!
Based on Semmelweis University’s Students’ Union’s Constitution, the election of Students’ Union officers is now open for mandates of Subunit President, Subunit Board Member, General Assembly (SU Congress) Member and Dormitory Subcommission Member, and has a due date for application as the following:
Nominating period of election from: 2019. March 27th. 8:00 a.m. – 2019. April 5th 3:00 p.m.
Handing in an adequate application – based on the application announcement – is required for running for mandate.
The Electoral Committee will decide the acceptance or the rejection of the applications.
All applications from applicants running for the following mandates: General Assembly Member, Subunit President, Subunit Board Member and Dormitory Subcommission Member, must contain the following documents:
- Application paper (At Students’ Union Finance Office)
- Paper proving contractual relationship with the University, no former than 15 days.
- CV
- Motivational letter
- Filled out declaration based on the SU’s Constitution paragraph 42. (Request it at the finance office)
- Written nomination from 2% of the students studying at the university holding an active status of their studies.
- Electoral district means the individual faculties at which the applicant is running for mandate for
- General Medicine Subunit board member, presidential candidature: 89 signatures
- Health Sciences Subunit board member, presidential candidature: 65 signatures
- Health and Public Services Subunit board member, presidential candidature: 10 signatures
- Dentistry Subunit board member, presidential candidature: 18 signatures
- Pharmacy Subunit board member, presidential candidature: 16 signatures
- András Pető Faculty Subunit board member, presidential candidature: 6 signatures
- General Assembly members need 210 signatures.
Those applying for Dormitory Subcommision member mandates, need to gather signatures from 25% of students living in the dormitory.
- Balassa János Dormitory Subcommission candidature: 92 signatures
- sr. Bókay János Dormitory Subcommission candidature: 14 signatures
- Kátai Gábor Dormitory Subcommission candidature: 39 signatures
- Frigyes Korányi College for Advanced Studies Subcommission candidature: 14 signatures
- Markusovszky Lajos Dormitory Subcommission candidature: 78 signatures
- Peto András Dormitory Subcommission candidature: 14 signatures
- Selye János Dormitory Subcommission candidature: 15 signatures
- Office-holder’s Declaration, stating that the total time in office – as a Students’ Union Officer – does not exceed 4 years (request it at the Finance Office of the Students’ Union), the applicant needs to sign every single application paper by hand.
- In case of presidential candidature for Subcommissions: election programme plan.
- Every student at Semmelweis University, having an active status in their studies, who handed in an adequate application
- In case of presidential candidature for Subcommissions, the active status needs to be from the faculty at which the applicant aspires to hold the presidential office.
- In case of Dormitory Subcommissions the applicant must live at the dormitory.
Office starts, when the results of the election are finalized, and is finished with losing the mandate, resigning, or with the next reelection.
The Subcommission president announces the elections based on SE SU’s (except for the Faculty of Health Sciences) EC’s (Electoral Committee) 14/2019. The Subcommission president will be elected from the candidates, by the newly formed board of the Subcommission at the first General Assembly held after the election.
When being elected, the Subcommission president is also delegated to the Faculty Council of the given Faculty.

When being elected, the Subcommission Board Member gets a vote on the Subcommission’s presidential election.
Maximum number of Mandates for General Assembly (SU Congress) Members is 12. The list of students continuing to hold Office is disclosed in SE HÖK EC’ 7/2019. (III.11) Committee Order.
In case of being elected as General Assembly Member, the applicant gets a vote on the SU’s Presidential election.
Nominations can only be collected at the nominating papers stamped by SE Students’ Union. The person nominating the candidate must be identifiable based on the signature.
Get your papers for the nomination signatures at the Students’ Centre’s Finance Office on Weekday from 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (address: 1089 Budapest, Nagyvárad sqr. 4.).
Application is due on April 5th 2019 3:00 p.m.
Applications can be handed for the EC in person or by a trustee at the Students’ Union’s Office Nr. 3. during the nominating period. In case the application will be made by a trustee, an attachment proving the authority of a trustee is needed.
