A record-breaking 670 abstracts were submitted by students to the Semmelweis University Scientific Students’ Associations Conference, surpassing all previous years. The presentations were delivered between February 12–14 in the lecture halls of the Nagyvárad Square Theoretical Block and the Theoretical Education Center. Reflecting the university’s educational portfolio, the research projects showcased new scientific findings across a broad spectrum of disciplines, ranging from medical and health sciences through dentistry and pharmaceutical sciences to the social sciences. At the conference, Dr. Zoltán Giricz, Research Professor of our institute, received the Excellent TDK Mentor Award.

In the Pharmacology A section, Or Fisher (Semmelweis University, Faculty of Medicine, Year IV) achieved third place. Supervisors: Regina Norma Nagy, Scientific Assistant, Institute of Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy; Prof. Dr. Anikó Görbe, University Professor, Institute of Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy. First prize was awarded to Wen-Wei Hung (Semmelweis University, Faculty of Medicine, Year V; Nóra Wagner, Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Faculty of Chemical Technology and Biotechnology, MSc Year III, OTDK candidate, HUPHAR Special Award). Supervisors: Szabolcs Hambalkó, Research Fellow, Institute of Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy; Dr. Zoltán Giricz, Research Professor, Institute of Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy. First prize was also awarded to Sarolta Doszpod (Semmelweis University, Faculty of Medicine, Year III, nominated for OTDK, Egis Special Award). Supervisors: Dr. Márk Jakab, PhD student, Institute of Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy; Dr. Zoltán Varga, Associate Professor, Institute of Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy.

In the Pharmacology B section, Alma Lolita Hullám (Semmelweis University, Faculty of Pharmacy, Year V) received the HUPHAR Special Award. Supervisors: Dr. Ildikó Miklya, Associate Professor, Institute of Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy; Dr. Yashar Chalabiani, Scientific Assistant, Institute of Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy. Karim Abdulrahman Mohamed (Semmelweis University, Faculty of Medicine, Year IV, OTDK candidate, Richter Gedeon Plc. Special Award) was awarded first prize. Supervisor: Dr. Mahmoud Al-Khrasani, Associate Professor, Institute of Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy. Second prize was awarded to Lili Lengyel (Semmelweis University, Faculty of Pharmacy, Year III, nominated for OTDK). Supervisors: Dr. Zoltán Zádori, Associate Professor, Institute of Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy; Zsuzsanna Demeter, PhD student, Institute of Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy. In the Immunology B section, 2nd prize went to Sára Luca Várlaki (SE, ÁOK, IV. OTDK recommended Supervisors: Márton Kocsis, research assistant, Institute of Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy Dr. Anna Gelencsérné Kulin, research associate, Institute of Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy).
