The mRNA Conference was held on November 7-8, 2024, at the University of Szeged, supported by the Novo Nordisk Foundation. The event focused on groundbreaking innovations and future directions in mRNA technology, featuring prominent invited speakers, including the 2023 Nobel laureates, Drew Weissman and Katalin Karikó, as well as BioNTech’s co-founder and CEO, Uğur Şahin. Researchers from 15 countries around the world presented their latest achievements in the field of mRNA. Our institute was represented by two colleagues at the event: a postdoctoral researcher and a bioinformatician.
The conference concluded with an inspiring closing speech by Katalin Karikó, who spoke about the challenges and perseverance in her career. Her words highlighted not only a passion for science and the dedication needed to pursue it but also encouraged young researchers to dream big and overcome difficulties.
