The Institute of Scientific Computing, Society organized its second multidisciplinary SciComp Conference at the Bolyai Institute of the University of Szeged, Hungary, between 17-19 October. More than 120 participants attended the event, of which the Institute of Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy was represented by three of our bioinformatics PhD students.
The aim of the conference was to foster dialogue, exchange of ideas and joint thinking between researchers working in the fields of scientific computing, simulation, data science and artificial intelligence. Lectures, round tables and poster sessions on a wide range of topics in physics, mathematics, biology, medicine, economics and sociology presented different computational methods and their results, showing that similar methodological trends can be found in even the most diverse fields. In addition, in a break with the conference theme, the participants could also enjoy a cultural experience at a gala dinner in the Móra Ferenc Museum, which took place after a guided tour of the Munkácsy exhibition.
