Our department opens its doors every year and welcomes all interested applicants as part of the Researchers’ Night program series. This year, more than 50 people came to the program, participants came from all over the country and from beyond the border. During short presentations, our colleagues presented the goals of our research and its practical aspects to the company, which consisted mostly of high school students. After that, the participants had the opportunity to visit our laboratories, where they could try out methods such as testing the viability of cells, micrometer-thick sectioning of tissue samples, examining the functioning of cell organelles with a confocal microscope, or ultrasound recording of heart function. They could also hear interesting facts about how cardiovascular and tumor diseases can be investigated in a cell culture vessel. Finally, they gained insight into the theoretical foundations of modern artificial intelligence, its biological inspiration, as well as one of the research topics of the Institute’s Bioinformatics Laboratory, during which the usability of image-generating artificial intelligence models, which are common today, will be examined for the purpose of network prediction of protein interactions.
All those who did not have the opportunity to participate in the program are warmly welcome at our 2025 Researchers’ Night program, and you can follow our work continuously on our Instagram and Facebook pages.
