Every year, the International Association for Health Profession Educators (AMEE)congress, which focuses on the higher education aspects of h ealth aspects of health care. This year, it took place in Basel, where several university lecturers with three colleagues from the Institute of Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy. With several colleagues from the Pharmacy and Pharmacology Department. The congress had at least 1000 participants from all over the world, Asian countries in particular were very well represented. A programmes were very varied, with plenary lectures, symposia, – 2-3 of which were held in parallel in each time slot, – publications of publications, workshops, sessions for young academics, and online presentations in Asian and American time zones at night.
The “hot topic” of the congress on the application of artificial intelligence (AI) was in medical education was met with huge interest. One of the conclusions was to students can be taught to use AI in a meaningful way, but on the other hand, if knowledge is not well established, AI can be prone to error, and so the student gets the wrong information. It is therefore very important to use it critically this otherwise powerful platform, and this is something that educators need to learn to learn.
