Tasks and Competences

The tasks of the Equal Opportunities Committee with regards to the Plan of Equal Opportunities:

  • gives an opinion on the Plan of Equal Opportunities and proposes its adoption and amendment to the Rector and the Chancellor;
  • monitors the balanced representation of men and women within university boards, if necessary at the end of each academic year – as part of the opinionating about the Plan of Equal Opportunities – makes a proposal for the Rector and the Chancellor to ensure proportional representation;
  • may make a recommendation to promote equal opportunities,
  • gives an opinion on the equal opportunities parts of the Information on Admissions;
  • by the end of each academic year – as part of the opinionating about the Plan of Equal Opportunities – makes proposals to the Chancellor and the Rector on the use of normative support to help students with disabilities with their studies, as well as on the acquisition of material assets necessary for the assistance, and the improvement of personal conditions;
  • as part of the opinionating about the Plan of Equal Opportunities, it makes a proposal to the Rector and Chancellor to ensure the necessary conditions for the admission procedure of persons with disabilities applying to the University for the purpose of establishing a legal student relationship;
  • in the light of the budget within the current year’s Plan of Equal Opportunities, makes a proposal to the Rector and the Chancellor on how students with disabilities can use the available personal and technical assistance and services; also coordinates the provision of the necessary conditions, and makes a recommendation to university and faculty leaders to improve the study conditions of students with disabilities;
  • considers it a priority to inform students with disabilities about equal opportunities,
  • assesses the application of students with disabilities for exemptions or other concessions from subject and examination requirements;
  • makes a proposal to the Rector and the Chancellor by the recommendation of the institutional coordinator and the experts involved in connection with notifications of the rectification of anomalies in the application of university standards on equal opportunities,
  • makes recommendations on injury-specific requirements for medical-, career- and professional aptitude tests;
  • monitors the implementation of equal opportunities and the implementation of the prohibition of discrimination in respect of all organizational units and employees of the University;
  • makes a recommendation on the working conditions of women, young people, employees over the age of 40, disabled workers and workers with disabilities, and on the employment conditions of workers raising children under the age of ten or those raising a child alone;
  • monitors the effectiveness of the implementation of the ordered equal opportunities measures
  • acts in cases of individual equal opportunities.
