The XIIth Mediterranean Emergency Congress (MEMC23), organised by the American Academy of Emergency Medicine and the Mediterranean Academy of Emergency Medicine, was held again, on the island of Rhodes this time.
Our clinic was represented by Dr. Csaba Varga, clinical director, Dr. Judit Imecz and Dr. Bánk Fenyves, assistant professors, Dr. Viktória Hahn, former PhD student and Dr. Gabriella Rapszky, PhD student.
Dr. Gabriella Rapszky’s abstract was selected as one of the top 3 abstracts. At the opening ceremony she presented her meta-analysis of rapid diagnostic tools used in the care of septic patients. For this she won the 1st prize of the conference.
At the conference, Dr Judit Imecz made a presentation about a case of posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome in a 29-year-old woman, that attracted the attention of Mark Langdorf, the editor of the Western Journal of Emergency Medicine.
Dr Viktoria Hahn presented her experience and results of viscoelastic haemostasis monitoring in emergency care.
In addition to the presentation of the scientific results, as in last year’s conference, there were presentations on interesting and instructive cases in emergency care and practical information.
During the conference, we had the opportunity to build international contacts, including the MAEM President, the AAEM Board member.
